RIDE FOR 90 MINUTES AT RPE 6-8: Today's ride is the first of three consecutive long rides designed to get you in shape for a multi-day tour. Unlike one-day events like "century" (100-mile) rides, tours require day after day in the saddle -- and the only way to get fit for that is to simulate it in your training. For most people, it's probably easiest to schedule today's ride on a Friday so that you can do the next two days' longer efforts on the weekend when you'll have more time.
