IT'S A REST DAY: The crankarms on your bike (the levers to which the pedals are attached) come in different lengths. Most bikes come with 170-mm cranks, but you can get them in lengths between 165 and 180 mm. Generally, taller riders use longer cranks, although this can create knee problems in some cyclists. Because new cranks are expensive and studies don't show a decided performance advantage from changing them, you're probably better off just keeping the ones that came with your bike.
