Day 032 - Time trials

RIDE 1 HOUR AT RPE 6, INCLUDING 3 LONGER EFFORTS AT RPE 7-8: Okay, it's time for some moderate time trials. A time trial is a race against the clock. Because no drafting is allowed, it's often called "the race of truth." But you don't have to compete to enjoy time trials. Just try a couple on your rides. Here's how: choose a one- or two-mile stretch of road with few cars and no traffic control devices. Look at your watch when you start, ride at a brisk but comfortable RPE of 7-8, and glance at your watch again when you come to a landmark (like a mailbox or road sign) marking the end of the time trial. If you keep a record of your times, you'll see improvement as your fitness grows.
