Day 029 - Hot foot

Rest day        Training via ActiveMail

IT'S A REST DAY: Some cyclists suffer from foot numbness or painful hot spots on their soles. A bad case of "hot foot" is usually caused by irritation of the nerves that run between the metatarsal heads comprising the ball of your foot. Solutions? Stiff-soled shoes designed for cycling distribute the pressure of the pedal evenly over the entire sole so specific spots aren't irritated. Also, shoes that are too narrow can squeeze the bones of your foot together, impinging on the nerves. Sometimes, merely changing to thinner socks or a thinner insole can eliminate the problem.
