What is the point of waterproofness if the water can come over the top of the shoe? Well, the point is that there are many times when the puddles are not so deep, when the grass is wet, the ground is muddy, and the rain is not torrential. For all those times, the Java GTX is the perfect shoe to wear outdoors. The Java uses Montrail's patented Stretch-Fit GORE-TEX tongue construction to create a smooth and comfortable fit over the top of the foot. The toe box is roomy and accommodates many foot widths, but the arch support is solid, securing your foot to the shoe. The plate provides excellent torsional rigidity and the EVA midsole makes the shoe light and cushioned. Deeply lugged outsole grips securely to slippery rock and moderately technical terrain. Hydrophobic synthetic leather/mesh upper. Shoe weighs 16 oz.
