TAKE TODAY OFF: Remember, RECOVERY is the theme of a time-goal program like this one. Recovery means letting your body rest and recuperate between workouts. It is important for 2 reasons. First, without adequate recovery, runners become fatigued, overtrained, and/or injured. Second, muscles actually grow stronger after a workout, not during the workout itself. If you don't give your muscles that post-workout time to build strength, your running won't improve.
