Day 003 - Your first run

20-minute run on flat terrain at RPE 6 with 3 pickups of 1 to 2 minutes. Stretch.        Training via ActiveMail

RUN 20 MINUTES ON FLAT TERRAIN AT RPE 6 WITH 3 "PICKUPS" OF 1 TO 2 MINUTES EACH. Today, warm up with 5 minutes of brisk walking. Run steadily for 5 minutes, then accelerate to a brisk but comfortable pace (about RPE 7) for one to two minutes, then slow to your original pace and recover for a time equal to your "pickup" effort. Repeat three times. If your route is lined with telephone poles, you can use them to gauge your workout. Increase the pace for three or four poles (depeding on how far apart they're spaced), then go easily for the same number of poles.
