| Pilates incorporates some yoga but it's more about what I would call traditional exercise. You know, lay on the floor and lift your leg X times.There are many forms of yoga but to generalize, yoga is more about striking a pose and holding it, not repeating something over and over. And there is the spiritual aspect to it as well although that isn't mandatory.I personally just do it for flexibility and strength and relaxation. Another way to put it - pilates boring, yoga challenging. I can think of nothing more yawnful than doing leg lifts, but trying to twist yourself into a pretzel? Now that's fun! |
