Hey,Im getting my first bike since i was a teenager tomorrow and i plan to cycle into work but im a bit unsure on what ill need.Do i just travel in in my sports gear and get changed into my suit when i get to work? Will i need a shower or will i even sweat that much? Its a 5 mile journey mostly flat and avoidiing main roads.I do have to go on a couple of roads that are busy so any tips on how to do it safest and avoid angry drivers being idiots would also be a great helpThankyou in advance folk

Howdy,I used to bike farther than that to work without working up too much of a sweat. It was on the coast ... so the climate was moderate and I wasn't wearing a white shirt and tie. As far as maneuvering in traffic ... you might want to build up your riding muscles and your ability to control your bike before you venture out into the car jungle. I can do it ... but I've seen a guy jump up with his bike and do a 180 to avoid an accident.

personally I use to cycle a few more miles than that to work and there were also hills so it a bit of a diff situation and I deinatly recormend if you have a shower if you have one at work...personally I traveled in on bus the first time with my suit and a change of clothes in my bag and a few shirts and ties left all that at work and went home in my change of clothes, the next day i cycled in and put my suit on while there after a showeronce you get into a rutine of doing ths it works sweetly! have fun!
