|
|
| I am into walking routine (5 kms , weekly 20 kms) due to which I am able to lose weight from most parts of the body but tough to get rid of the flab near waist/hips - I was told that cycling , recumberant bikes are good option as the motion during cycling target waist/hips - is it really a good one to try to lose fat near waist / hips ? any thoughts appreciated. |

| Remember there is no "one" way to lose weight in a specific area. You need to engage in cardio for the total effect. I had same issue, and joined gym and got a personal trainer and within 3 months i went from a size 12 to size 4-6. Cardio is where you need to begin and you will see the results, then you can start weight training and it will all come together you will see. |

| BIGGEST EXERCISE MYTH: That you can target fat loss. I am speaking from experience here. I used to do spinning classes, running 5 miles 2 times a week, etc. I still had excess fat.It is a complete and total myth that cardio will get rid of stomach fat (this also applies to hip or back fat). I know plenty of people who have done just cardio & no weights & they still have fat. Unfortunately most people are very misinformed about this. Another myth is that you can get rid of stomach fat by just doing ab exercises. Here is a good website that exposes those myths & specializes in helping anybody getting rid of stomach fat. http://www.flatstomachsecret.com/I feel your pain. I would encourage you to at least take a look at this site, as it will point you into the right direction. Good luck!! |

| Continue your walking schedule for another six months. The flab in your waist would also go. |

| there is no way that u can spot reduce short of liposuction...u'd just have to go on a healthy eating plan and exercise, then u'd lose weight and ur waist and hips WILL get smaller in proportion with the rest of your body...example, i was 36-28.5-39.5 at 67kg...now i'm 35.5-26.5-37.5 at 63kg. at my slimmest i was 35-26-36 at 59kg...so yes, ur body will get into proportion as u get closer to your ideal weight. So just keep doing cardio...i avoid cycling though, as i'm pear shaped, and cycling tends to bulk up the legs...so i prefer treadmills...brisk walking, jogging and running are the best forms of exercises to burn fats. and for toning the lower body, go for squats and lunges. the waist will shrink as u lose more weight. eat healthy and take in enough protein everyday so that ur body will lose fat instead of muscle, so make sure ur eating some kind of meat (Esp seafood) or if ur vegetarian, egg whites, tempeh, tofu and legumes everyday. good luck. |
