I've been having nightmares almost every night. I am presently overweight and I heard a friend tell me that the nightmares are because I'm overweight. I don't sleep good most nights. I lay on the side and pretty soon wake up and my leg or arm is numb. It's terrible. Today I decided to start my walking program again (had started but stopped), and I walked 1 hour. Now my feet are killing me, especially in the heel area. I have good shoes, but I guess it's just the weight. Is there really a relationship between having nightmares to being obese?

possibly. it mite just be because you are stressed out from worrying about being overweight. stop worrying, eat healthier, and exercise and you should be fine!!

Most likely from the stress you put on yourself for being over weight. I hate the term obese and do not use it with my clients. If they say obese, I say "over their ideal weight." Everyone has a different goal to achieve and it is very important to set that goal yourself. So, if you want to change and it is causing you stress, that is the most likely cause for the dreams.Depending on what your goal weight is, it is more beneficial for you to look at your nutritional plan first and fine tune that over the next 6 months and try to get 20-40 pounds off, then go back to the walking program and see if that helps.Chances are you have heel spurs and the tendons are not used to the punishment of walking for an hour. Cut it back to 20 minutes 5 times a week for the next two weeks. Then increase to 30 for two weeks. Once you get used to that then increase again if you like.Try to get 5-6 smaller meals throughout the day. Aim for 400 calories per meal to start with and once you stop losing weight then look at it again. There is more info on my blog and in these boards. Ask more questions if you like and we can answer them. We are here to help.Al http://phoenixbodystyling.blogspot.com/

sounds like anxiety. Obesity by itself does not cause nightmares.
