I really want to be healthier, so I want to start exercising more. However I hate the gym, and can't seem to push myself to get there, so am pursuing other forms of exercise. Is bike riding good? I don't want to lose weight, just stay fit and toned.

Fair, as it only exercised the lower portion; it does nothing for upper body strength

Good for you! some people just don't like the gym. Biking is awesome! i love to do it and it keeps me toned, as well, it keeps up my endurance. biking really tones the legs and it's a great way of doing cardio for the heart! if you don't want to lose weight, make sure you in-take enough calories. good luck!

Any physical activity is a good form of exercise. Tennis, swimming, jogging, etc..As long as you're riding in excess of at least 20 minutes at a substained rate faster than your resting heart rate, you'll be fine. You'll eventually have to do some sort of exercise that involves the entire body if you're plan is to have a body that is tone.
