My pony Buddy is fine at cantering to the left but we cannot get the right leg going round to the right, anyone know some exercises I can do to help him. I don't have a menage but I have jumps and poles in a field. Thanks

hiIf you ride her whilst cantering and try and turn right a couple times whilst you do it then she might just get used to it thrn you can start putting her on the lead. As an exercise get a carrot and put it in awkward plaeces that she wouoldnt usually reach and make her stretch its sort of like yoga. hope this helpskasia

I used have this same problem with an appaloosa gelding that I ride. Some things that i would do are to:lift up the inside reign alittle bit then ask for the cantertry asking for the canter at a bend in the arena or whereever you're ridinghold the outside leg just above the girth that way the horse won't take off on that leg becuase it feels akward for himlastly practice on bending your pony to the inside to make him more flexible and comfortable with taking off of the right lead.hope this helps and happy riding.
