ive just had a whole new exhaust put on to my rover 414 right to the manifold, the problem is that now there is a rattle noise when im accelerating in all gears, just as i pass through 2000-3000 rpm but when i almost max out the gear it disapears until i change gear again and go through the cycle again, i asked the garage and they recond it was due to lack of oil changes, so i changed oil and done over 100 miles since but noise is persistent. if it helps this is what else has been done recently...plugs..leads..... cap and arm...clutch..brake pads....inlet manifold gasket, the noise is a constant clicking type of noise, it doesnt seem to speed up or slow down with vehicle speed it just constant,

My guess would be it is your exhaust brackets or the rubbers, see if your exhaust is lose. When its cold. Had the same problem with my car after i put on a new exhaust.Hope that helps ya mate.

Was there a rattle before the exhaust was fitted?Did a garage fit the exhaust? If the garage fitted it they may have snapped a bolt in the manifold and just tightened it up on the bolts that was left causing it to rattle. It also could be touching the body somewhere. But its hard to tell where a rattle is coming from unless you see the car

if the problem started since you had the exhaust fitted then the problem must be due to the exhaust, check clearances and alignment, take it to the garage who fitted the exhaust and tell them its not the oil change as they suggested and you want them to take a second look at the exhaust, their work should be under warranty, if they refuse take it to another reputable garage and get a second opinion, if they tell you that its down to the original garages workmanship, take it back to the garage tell them you've had an independent garage check the exhaust, and tell them the garages results, then the garage can either remedy their mistake, or you can get the work done by the independent garage, and then take action to recover your money from the original garage

Check the obvious by getting hold of things that are supposed to be fixed tight and try to give them a good shake. Make sure there is nothing loose in the boot. More often than not clutch rattle gearbox rattle only appear when the vehicle is idling.

sounds yo me that your rattle started after you put the exhaust on so i would say the pipes are hitting on the car body someplace causing your noise, take it back to whoever put your exhaust on and tell them it's rattling.

Very simple , take it back to the garage maybe a part from the middle section stuck to the Chase so all they need is just to push it further down not to touch the bottom of your car, all the best.
