Check the Motorcycle Safety Foundation. http://www.msf-usa.org/There you can find where they offer classes in your area. They supply the bikes and will tell you what gear you will need. (Helmet, gloves, over the ankle shoes, long pants and long sleeves)

Show up in BOOTS. Your footwear has to cover your ankles. They wouldn't let anyone wearing tennis shoes ride when I took my class.

if you go to a beginner course they should supply you with a bike to ride usually a 250cc bike to take the course you usually need a permit and they usually cost around 250 to 300 dollars hope that helped call your local dmv to find out where to take it.

Not knowing where you are, I may not be too much help, but contact your local Honda dealer as there are many Honda training centers in the US and most will supply you with the proper bike for your needs. They can also tell you the cost of the course.
