I can jog a mile with no issue without shoes with a big arch and I can go walking with shoes with no arch for a while and it won't bother me, but my feet are not quite super flat but not quite arched healthily either.I wore orthodics in 5th grade and a little in 6th and I guess that helped because before I was in pain after walking long distances. Now I feel like I need to stretch or flex the arch muscle sometimes for my feet to have maximum comfort. I guess that's a sign they need to get stronger. What do I do to strengthen the muscle?

You should keep wearing your orthotics insertsif you are running, playing tennis. or doing another high-impact sport. As for strengthening your arch, just continue to do the stretching that your doctor who fitted your orthotics suggested.

I have super high arches. So I went to a store that specializes in running shoes. By performing a couple of tests, they recommended a few brands that were good for the shape of my feet. Get shoes that fit your feet WELL. And after that, you probably won't have as much of a problem.

To strengthen your foot, try picking up a pencil with your toes and holding it for as long as you can.
