Question... My body geared up for Ovulation, then I believe failed to release an egg. (as always.) I have been taking FertilAid for almost two weeks and switched yesterday to straight Vitex. Is it possible to still ovulate this cycle, even after my body geared up and failed to ovulate?(Background info: DH and I have been ttc#1 for 3.5 years, I am on thyroid meds, my periods are regularish now, and I started taking Vitex recently.)I have been charting BBT, (though no temp change has happened for O, it never does with me as I never seem to O, I do get a dip for when mesus comes though.) I have been checking CM and had a little ewcm yesterday, the day before that and the day before that - though it was scarce. My reason for assuming I have geared up and then didn't, is mostly due to the fact that is what usually happens with my cycles. That and I had two days of OPKS that were close to positive... then today and the day before yesterday the opks were much fainter - with todays being extremely faint. I am still getting Highs on my CBEFM, but I will probably be getting a low again soon, I imagine.madismama: Thank you for your answer! My cycles have been around 26-30 days long, so hopefully I will manage to O - or try to - again. Baby dust to you too! ^__^MadisMama: Oh, forgot to add... Yes, my bbt was all over the place for a few days, then settled out. Its usually pretty clear, for the most part.I've heard of that book, and scanned through it at the store, but never really read it. I might do that though. ^__^

Are you charting BBTs and CM? I'm just wondering how you're so sure that you were a) gearing up for ovulation and also b) that you then didn't. Just trying to get a little more info to go on. Thanks!

In answer to your question...yes it is very possible to still Ovulate. Your body may "try to Ovulate" several times in a cycle (it's usually a long cycle too by the way), if it doesn't succeed it may just give up and shed it's lining....there by having an anovulatory period. Are you having an erratic BBT??? Where it looks more lilke an EKG chart?I understand what you are going through...I also just started Vitex and Maca root about three weeks ago. I had only had one period in 9 months...my body would try to Ovulate and fail...several times. So I am really hoping this works (the vitex). I would highly recommend you reading Takeing Charge of Your Fertility...it really helped me get more in toon with what my body is doing...it is worth every penny!! And I know she gives several examples of charts (in the book), of cycles that "tried" to Ovulate several times and failed. You should deffinetly read it!And I know it's possible to finally Ovulate and get pregnant after your body has "tied" to several times...cause that is how I got pregnant with my first. My cycle was going on for more than 100 days and it had tired to Ovulate several times, I finally did Ovulate after 4 months with no period and I got pregnant with my daughter. I hope that helps you. I wish you the best and lots of baby dust!!
