| I am a 30 year old female at 5'4" and I weigh 140 lbs. I would like to loose 10-15 pounds (2 lbs/week). I wear an F6 Heart rate monitor all day every day and it tells me how many calories I burn all day, then I add 470 calories burned while I sleep. I have been eating an average of 1400 calories/day and burning on average 2800 calories. Why do I still weigh the same? What am I doing wrong? Thank you!I just researche sleeping and that's what it said so if I don't count the calories that I burn I am still averaging 2400 calories burned. I wear a monitor. Yes I was amazed at how many cal as well but it's true. I drink 8 glasses of water a day. I do 3 1 hour cardio sessions/week and 3 weight lifting circuits. I eat good (no sweets, soda, etc). |

| sounds like you are doing the right thingsso how long have you been eating well?also do you exercise?b/c you need to exercise, 30 mins of cardio is musteven if you just walk around and in your houseum.... i dont usually care much for this monitoring things b/c again, i dont know what you eat, you could be eating junk food but keep under 1400 calories or you could be eating veggies and fruits which are healthy to your body....but definitely change your routine a littleafter i lost the first 15 lbs my body stopped, b/c my body got used to my workout routine (i used to run 3 miles a day three days aweek and eat healthy no junk food)now i added more routine, and within a month my body lost 10lbs, but now my body is again used to the routine, nothing is changingso you have to change up your exercise-----------------------another thing i have to add is, to agree with the person above, it's not possible that you can lose 2800 calories a day LOL you ask why? well that means you have to be doing some serious activities througout the day, for example, running 3 miles nonstop burns about 450caloriess, so in order to burn 2800 calories, you have to be doing some intense workout equalevant to 18 miles jogging LOL |

| With the gap in calories between what you're burning and what you're taking in, as well as how little you need to lose, your body probably thinks it's starving. From what I've learned, you should take what you burn in a day and subtract only 500 calories to make weight loss successful. I would suggest going to http://www.sparkpeople.com/ and fill out all the information. It will help you figure out what you need to be eating to lose that last bit of weight. Also, if you're working out and gaining muscle, you might not see the loss of fat on the scale. Take your measurements around your waist, chest, hips, legs, and arms to track your weight loss as well. |

| I wouldn't really count some normal everyday activities as "exercise" even if they require calorie burning to do them. As I'm sitting here typing, I may burn about 20 calories- but come on now, that really doesn't count.I agree with the above poster. Count your calories as you activily exercise- walking, running, biking, aerobics, yoga, whatever. Deduct that number from your total calories ingested. Make sure that number is around 1600 calories- or less to lose more quickly. (I eat about 1800 cals a day, but I work out a ton). That way you're not counting just piddly little calories burned for lifting your fork!Good luck. |

| First off remember that muscle weighs twice as much as fat. Are you only checking the scale or are you keeping track of inch loss as well. Next, for every pound of lean muscle mass you have, you will burn an additional 14 calories when you are at rest. Also what is your diet like. You need a balance of fruits, vegetables, and protein. Protein will help your body burn the stubborn fat. A great book to read is "The LA Shape Diet" by Dr. David Heber. It will break down metabolism, diet, everything. Odds are though if you are not losing any weight you are either consuming empty calories or your math is off on the calories you are burning. Also, make sure you are getting enough water as the water will help flush fat from you body and if you are properly hydrated your body will not retain water. |
