| i am 52 overweight and stopped exercising and walking about 6years ago--4 years ago i had heart failure--but i still dont exerciseif i dont start walking an hour or so a day i am heading back to thehospital.i am a brand name person of the major brands mephisto, addidas, nike , reebok , and converse --who makes the best all weather walking shoe.and about what is the cost.i have swelling problems and am on medication for gout.bicycling was my exercise of choice and that is not an option.any advise would be greatly appreciated |

| I agree, Mephisto is among the best of the best. Also though, check out Ecco and Wolky. Ecco makes a style called the Dakota. It has an interchangeable heel counter (soft and hard), and is designed for walking for fitness. Also, you might look into MBT ( http://www.swissmasaius.com/Default.aspx?lang=en-US).
