I am a 57 female with managed rhematoid arthritis osteo arthris, osteoporos, also asthma. I have had RA since my teens and managed to maintain a healthy weight until my last flare up where I gained aout 30 lbs. I had several reconstructve surgeries and gained more weght until I reached 210. With the osteoporosis, I lost 4 1/2 inches in height. I am now 5'1" . I can't afford the weiht loss programs but I do belong to a health club . I am only allower low impact exercise and swimming. I heard the low glucose diet is healthy. Does anyone have advise?

I was able to lose 80 lbs on a low sugar, low carb diet... I basically cut out sugar and white flour... along with white rice.. I had whole wheat bread, pasta, and brown rice( in limited amounts) , any meat I wanted ( although I tend to choose healthier options like chicken breast anyway) lots of fruit and veggies, and low fat cheese and yogurt.I did have some diet sodas, and used Splenda in my coffee, and in baking. I also did 30 minutes a day on the treadmill, walking, not running. You could certainly do the same thing by just going for a brisk walk outside if you dont have a treadmill.
