|
|
| I've been wanting to pick up the hobby of cycling for a while now and just found a Trek 1000 2006 model in the paper for 300 bucks. It was used once and is in perfect condition. Needless to say I picked it up very quickly. However, I have never used a bike with gears before! I looked at it and it seemed to have gears on both sides of the steering wheel and the seller mentioned something with the brake pedals being gears. I dont know.I don't want to mess the bike up if thats possible on my first ride. I need some explanation about gears and so forth. |

| Honestly, with the terms you are using and the questions I wouldn't know where to start. I'm surprised you bought a bike being so in the dark about it or even how you know you got a deal. I'll point you to http://sheldonbrown.com/ there's plenty of info for you to read up on. I highly suggest you contact someone who knows how to ride a multi speed bike well. plenty of people own one and one of them should be bright enough to help you out. |
