I'm 20 and 9 months pregnant.. I have gained about 50lbs during my pregnancy.. I'm planning to start weight watchers and curves after the baby is born and I can begin to work out.. Is this a good idea? any other ideas? Everyone tells me that I'm young and the weight will just come off but I don't believe it.. I am young and want to have my young body back! Any advice, I'm open to anything!Ps. Candy and Cakes are my weakness!

gradually build your self up. go for a short stroll down the street and build it up to walking 5 miles. IDK but it works

portion controll on your meals, and any little extra exercise you can manage...for the first week or so after delivery you are going to be pretty wiped out.have you considered breast feeding?? that helps to

lol yes weight watchers is a really great program. You should also exercize for an hour a day 5 times a week. The sooner you get back to exercizing and stuff, the faster the weight will melt off. You can also take your baby for walks which will be excercize esp since the weather will be nice. Good luck and congrats on your baby♥

One of the best things to have done would have been to workout all throughout your pregnancy. If you didn't do this, it's ok, you'll just need a good plan of attack. Also, don't let people tell you that the weight will just fall off. Breast feeding and being young can help, but it is really all bout a person's genetic makeup and lifestyle. It won't be easy! Curves is ok for easing back into a workout routine, but I think other things can be more effective since Curves cardio and weigh routines are sub par if you really want to get a great body back. I'd suggest taking up running for cardio. Or join a gym with good childcare and do about 60 minutes of intense cardio as often as time allows. Slowly add a weight routine to this as well. If you don't want to join a gym, try some intense at home videos. The Firm program is great, and I hear the P90x program is good too. That way you can stay home with your baby. As for diet, don't be too strict if you are breast feeding, but do try to eat really cleanly and healthy. Quality calories will definitely help you feel your best. Most importantly, enjoy your time with your baby, and take your time to ease back into a routine.

Losing baby weight is very hard. It takes a lot of time and patience, which will be hard to find with a new baby. My son is almost 7 months old and I'm in my 20's and believe me, the weight is not falling right off. I also need to lose 40-50 lbs and it is slow going. I don't know if you plan on working after the baby is born but if you are, finding time for working out is hard. I go to work till 5, then go to the gym, I won't get home till 6:30. I pick up the baby from my mom's house and feed him, play for a little while, and then get him ready for bedtime (8pm) I only get to see him for about 2 hours a day, if I'm lucky. It sucks. But, if you want to get the baby weight off, you have to work at it. It took 9 months to get on, it will take at least that to get off. I don't know about curves and what they do for you but my routine at a regular gym is cardio for at least 30 min followed by strength training. On days I don't go, I take the baby for an hour walk when I get home, then go swimming (we have a pool). What ever you do, just keep in mind that it takes lots of time to lose the weight. It won't happen in a few months (unless your lucky). Good luck with the new baby, you're whole life is about to change!! (for the better Smile )

Just because you are young doesn't mean weight will melt off! But don't be discouraged, you can do it. I found after my two babies that running was the best answer. I also did weight watchers and loved it. Nursing helps a lot too. It allows you more calories, so you don't feel so hungry as you lose weight. I have been to curves a few times, but I find that there are a lot of old ladies there talking and it is really hard to get a good workout. Running is much better and it is free!
