| When pedalling very fast on the exercise bike? Some days, I am fine and do not get out of breath at all, but some days I seem to find it much, much harder. And when I recently tried to run for 10 minutes outside, I was so out of breath I had to bend over and my heart was pounding. What is the use of cycling daily for months on my exercise bike, speed walkng and toning if I am still so horribly unfit? I have mild copd, but I don't see that should make it so hard. |

| A cold could stuff up your lungs with Phlegm. Also the bike is not a weight bearing exercise so your body is not using all its muscles to control lateral movement as well as forward. Running uses all sorts of muscles to propel you and balance you that a stationary bike does not. It is therefore a much more intensive exercise than bike riding. |
