|
|
| And I am getting tempted, because of this, to fall back into my old ways of purging it or simply going the other way and only buying fruit and salad and nothing else. I am almost 5'10 and 126 Ibs usually, but bingeing last night has made my weight go up 1.5 Ibs. I HATE losing control of myself. I dieted to lose 10 Ibs the last few months, but since I increased my exercise (I go on my exercise bike for 90-120 minutes a day intense cycling and do another 30 mins exercise), I keep feeling a need to binge before bed... I eat fine and healthy until it comes to bedtime, then I end up stuffing dried fruit, rice cakes, cereal bars etc...in large quantities. Would it help to change my waking and sleeping times? I usually am up until 4/5 am and get up at midday or 1pm... Would my weight be better if I got to bed earlier and had the cereal etc in the morning? That Turbo idiot is reported. I wish people would read the full question before labelling anyone who binge eats as a 'fatty'. It is ignorant people like that who help to cause people to take the eating disorder route.Blue- Nope, I have no interest in modelling... I am too old, and I find it a shallow business full of shallow people. MY issues run deeper than that, but yes, I am obsessed. |

| you should make sure you fill up in the morning and the afternoon. That way you can just "snack" when bedtime comes. |

| I just answered your other question so remember it's not like you gained 1.5 lbs of fat, it's just water retention (water weight) that fluctuates naturally. To me, you sound obsessed with your weight and if I had to guess I would say you are a model or trying to become one. Maybe if you ate healthy meals other than just fruit and salads during the day, you would not need to binge at night and plus if you consume food earlier in the day (breakfast, lunch) the calories get burnt off easily. Like I said before, considering your height you could weigh up to 167 lbs and still be at a healthy weight. |

| I checked your BMI and it's an 18, which is a little underweight. It should be between 19 and 24 to be a healthy weight. I would suggest not trying to lose any weight. You also might not be eating enough calories. That contributes to hunger. I noticed that when I started dieting this week. If you burn more calories than consume it should be the other way around. You should be eating about 2000 calories because of all the bike riding. Try eating small meals throughout the day. This way you won't feel as hungry when you eat. Also, start off meals with a salad or cold vegetable with dressing that way you'll feel fuller faster and you won't eat as many calories. One more thing, you should drink a lot of water. Your body replaces dehydration for hunger. Before every meal have 2 glasses of water which = .5 litre/16oz. and your body won't do that. I have the same problems with overeating you just have to try your best and encourage yourself to do what you want and reward yourself once you've overcome this problem because you'll have more confidence. By the way, your body doesn't know what time of day it is, so as long as your eating healthy meals you'll be fine on your normal schedule. |

| Getting a good night's sleep can actually help you control your weight, so you need to change your sleeping habits. Go to bed at a decent time and make sure you get enough sleep in. You will be tempted to snack when you stay up later. Eat a healthy breakfast when you get up so that you don't feel hungry during the day and then end up over-eating. What you should do actually is eat about 5-6 mini meals a day rather than 3 large ones, so if you feel like eat the rice cakes, then eat them during one of these mini meals. What I would do is eat something small every two hours or so, whether you are hungry or not so that you can keep your metabolism up and not go so extreme. |

| I've experienced a lot of the same things and the only thing that keeps me from binging is treating myself to stuff I like in small quanties throughout the day. Totally depriving myself of treats will force me into a fierce binge, which always ends badly. I've struggled with it for years and it gets really bad sometimes. What time you wake and go to bed shouldn't matter. You're probably binging because you've burnt a lot of calories with your massive workout and your body is starving. Have some good carbs after your workout and it may help.Good luck, and take care of yourself! |
