I currently do 90 minutes of intense cycling on my stationary bike and a further 30 mins of toning exercises (squats, lunges etc) at night, but I notice a few have suggested weight training... which involved buying weights and finding out exactly how to do the damn thing.I have a few questions. 1) how much exercise should I do per day to keep my weight down? (ie-am I doing too much?) 2)What is the best combination of exercise to lose weight or keep weight down? 3) What exercises should I avoid if I do not want to build up muscle weight?

90 minutes of intense cycling is TOO MUCH unless you're planning on being a cylcist..so to answer your questions:1) 30-45 minutes of cardiovascular 3-4 times a week, that's all!2) Squats/lunges, anything that works several muscles at once.3) Diet diet diet!Anything super intense will build muscle weight. Like 90 minutes of cyling a day. You're doing too much, you can tone it down and be fine.

I would focus more on cardiovascular which it seems you are but with a combination of a good diet. If you do not want to build muscle then do not add additional weight into your workouts.

1) Exercise enough to burn more calories than you take in2) Mix of 70 % Cardio 30% strength (weight or resitance)3) To avoid building too much muscle stay with lighter weights and higher repetions.

your doing alright for cardio for weight training do very light like 5kg dumbells for each hand but to all you body parts in 1 day weight training tones your body up and makes it look better you might put on a few kilos of muscle but that should be good you will look better and toned
