What's the HEALTHIEST and fastest way to lose weight? I would like to get down to around 150 or 155 by June. Right now I weight 187. I plan on running 10km 6 days a week and doing weightlifting (bench press, deadlift etc.) The only problem is food and soda. I like to drink soda especially coke (about 2 litres a day) and eat a lot. What foods and beverages should I consume and how much should I consume and how can I stop my food cravings when I'm not hungry to save calories? I don't want to hear that losing weight isn't healthy because this only temporary. I'm going to gain some of it back with muscle.

Drink water and only water. Drop soda. It's hard - I know, because I did it, but it's amazing. Especially when you drink that much, if you stop and only drink water, most of it'll drop right off, almost literally. If you're having cravings, drink more water. It fills your stomach and makes it expand, making you less hungry. Try to eat whitemeats, fruits, vegetables, wheat breads if you must, et cetera.

lose the soda. do NOT drink anymore soda, at all. drink water. chug it and drink it until you're sick. water helps you lose weight. and eat 3 meals a day but about half the portion size that you eat now. avoid crackers and breads. stop eating so many carbs. no junk food! go cold turkey. and again, drink immense amounts of water.

Wow! 2 liters of coke alone must have 1000 calories! If you did nothing else but eliminate that you'd lose weight. The road to permanent weight lose involves behavioral changes- eating small portions of healthy food only when you're hungry. Get a handle on emotional eating (because that's what eating too much is all about). Detox from the sugar, readjust your taste buds to not crave sugar, and maybe get some therapy for your food cravings (which are really emotional cravings).Good luck! You can do it- I did!
