| First: What is your objective? Fitness? transportation? Weight loss?Asking about calories consumed is like asking someone how many kilometers per liter of petrol you get driving. What vehicle? How fast? How much traffic? Do you stomp on the gas and brake pedals or do you treat them gently? Its impossible to answer. More so because you can't directly measure calories consumed. How many calories did you put in your tank? Was your "tank" full? How far from full was your "tank" when you finished the ride? Second: I can't make sense of this statement.Third: If I am translating this correctly, you will burn more calories at higher heart rates. The calorie is a measure of the energy value of food (fuel) . Oxygen is required to burn fuel and release its energy. Your cardiovascular system delivers the oxygen. Higher heart rate = more oxygen delivered = more calories burned. |
