|
| I am tryting to lose some weight. I am about 250 lbs and about 6 foot tall. I do cardio and weight lifting. I was wanting to gain little bit of muscle as well as lose fat for the weight. Is it safe to take whey protein supplement for this?Or, will I just bulk up and not lose any fat?because I got a BSN true mass whey protein powder and one serving has 630 calories with 16g of fat including 5g saturated fat. It says the supplement is for weight management and lean muscle gain.Should I take this or find other supplement that has significantly lower in calories? |

| Whey protein can actually make you gain weight because it repairs and hardens the muscles after your workouts! |

| Whey protein brilliant for weight loss, but get the lower calorie one that assist weight loss. Typically it will be high in protein say 30g per serve and around 200 calories with water or 400 with skim or fat reduced milk. I was 260 lbs 6 foot 2 now 185 lbs after 9 months. To make it work u need 6 meals a day (to keep the metabolism switched on) but realistically who has time to prepare 6 small meals so make 3 of them a protein shake. OATS (1 serving) is the best way to start your day as it naturally breaks down the bad fats and lowers cholesterol. Mid morning have your shake, if you can handle salmon get the small tin for lunch. I get the one mixed with onion and tomato a good flavour as I can't stand plain. Salmon and Tuna are very high in omega 3 and high in protein naturally. Mid afternoon a shake then diner and a shake before u go to bed. 250 lbs you don't want to do to much weights and don't let others tell you otherwise. Just do cardio 4 to 5 times a week, this with your protein shakes (to lesson the muscle loss) and low carb diet you'll find the weight will fall of you over the next 3 months as your metabolism ramps up. Wait till you get to say 220 lbs then introduce your weights cause it from then on you will tone & cut whats left to loose unless you really want to bulk up and at 250 lbs your latter years will pay the price. Fish oil is also an excellent supplement and its natural. |
