I need to lose 40 pounds. I'm not being unrealistic and saying that i want to lose it in a month, but have heard great things about losing weight with billy blanks tae bo. I just bought the bootcamp version with billy bands. I eat healthy and for me, I also have to exercise to lose weight, diet isnt enough alone. They say you see results in 7 days, IS THIS TRUE? about how long will it take to drop 40 lbs doing this workout 5 days a week...I'm also going to keep up with my pilates/yoga classes 1 or 2 times a week.

the amount of time it will take varies on the person. But yes, billy blanks tae boe is a very good workout. But mind you, it is also very difficult. Someitmes, I cant get more than 15 miunutes into the video. His "warm up" feels like an actual workout. GIve it a few months.

you are being unrealistic in losing 40 pounds a month.are you trying to kill yourself?lose 12 pounds a month, if you lost 40, you would more than likely end up worse than you are, and in the hospital.cut your calories, eat more fruit and vegetables, less meat.fiber is best for losing weight

A 55 minute Tae Bo workout can burn between 400-800 calories depending on your effort and weight ( see http://www.sparkpeople.com/resource/calories_burned.asp for your estimated count). With that calorie burn you will lose weight with a proper diet. Be careful if you have never done Tae Bo before to watch your form as improper form can equate to injury (especially with the bands) . I suggest you start with the basic tape only for a week or two so that you can learn the proper form.I use Tae Bo as one of my workouts, but I also include things like yoga and belly dancing to keep my workouts varied. You may want to add some stretching before or after the workout as the warm ups tend to be on the shorter side.Good Luck!
