Never dieted before aged 48, 6 feet tall. 15 stone 4. Started having trouble bending down to put shoes on, belly in the way.Not an exercise freak, but love walking.Feeling big makes me feel strong and safe and able to look after family, if needed.O.K. at cutting down on food, but when it comes to something sweet after dinner, which I seem to need, 'I cannot' have one square of chocolate or a little nibble of something. So the question is what is something sweet that will satisfy me and not keep me returning to fridge?Tried Banana's as told they are sweet, but belly getting bigger!Just need to feel sweet satisfied if poss.Or is it a simple equation of going to bed hungry and suffereing. Have cut out crisps and snacks, eat quite healthy brown bread, it is just this sweet thing, any ideas from you expert dieters. Asked my Sister she said buy slip-ons! Thank you for your time. Terry.

Diet is a four letter word. But guys do the best as they burn calories different than us gals. Follow a diabetic diet. (don't worry you get goodies) You have to have balance. Breakfast just a bowl of cereal. Don't skip.Lunch: HB no ff only eat 1/2 of the bun. NO mayo...light on ketchup (has sugar) Mustard is free. Veggies are free eat all you like.. choose lots to keep it mixed up. Buy a low fat ranch if you need a taste to dip them in. Fruit is needed too... Dinner is your big one to be careful of.. Eat early if you can, 4oz of meat..a stk BBQ or chix, ya..skinned , but if you par boil it first the fat is gone. a nice salad put your dressing on the side and dunk your fork in it first then put the salad on it. You can have a starch like 1/2 pot with little butter. or Cottage cheese with fruit.Remember you still need some fat. Make some sf pudding or jello,,something you love,,put fruit in it...spray a little lite whip top on it... You will be amazed at how good all this will be. Slice come cukes/tomatoes too. Veggies are free remember that. But not the fried stuff. Be creative.. Popcorn for a snack later ,,but you need a air popper and use the spray I can't beleive it is butter it is good. Or use VERY little butter if you need to. Don't be hard on yourself..any change is good. Good luck guy!! YOU CAN DO IT!!!

ok, simple weight losf rules1. eat slower2. fill up on veggies and healthy food first, then protein, then lastly eat your carbs (potatos, rice, pasta, ect) but dont put alot of carbs on the plate to start, use the clock method.~~half the plate is veggies or fruit, 2/3 of the other half is meat (perferrably lean) and the last 1/3 carbs (not overloaded with butter or cheese 3. drink alot of water, i no you must have heard that alot but it fills you up a little more4. Cut out all soda, and relplace with water or diet versions5. now because you say you like sweets, try hte low fat brandssuch as weightwaters or smartchoice ice cream. averages around 150 calories (lowest at 70 highest at 200) they are very satifying.or try fresh fruit, or popsicles, (only about 30 calories a pop and they are very sugary)6. walk, cuz you love it. You have a family so go on after dinner walks, or take them to the park (if theyre young) if older go play bball with them. (if there teenage girls) see if they want to go to the gym with you to tone their muscles 7. just make weiser choices, wheat bread, lean meats, and try to cut out fruit jucies, they can somtimes have as many calories as sodagood luck |

46 and have been slim all my life. I eat what I want when I want. If i'm too busy too eat a main meal sweet things keep me going. Lot's of energy in sweet things, don't need to eat much food! I think this dieting thing, putting restrictions on yourself is nonsense. 3 sugars in my coffee, some days as many as 10 cups. The rule is simple, eat when you're hungry not at a set time.

Come on - let's not kid each other. One small cube of chocolate isn't going to make much difference - it's all the rest of the stuff you chuck down your throat! You've GOT to eat less - it's no good saying "I'm cutting down a bit" because you were obviously over-eating to start with (hence the over-weight), so just "cutting down a bit" is only going to KEEP YOU THERE! You need TO EAT LESS. Simple as that!I speak from experience so don't get annoyed at me ! ! !

well I like my sweet things too...why dont you try the go ahead range...low cal sweet things there or a yoghurt, maybe have a look in a health food shop and see what they have...also if you go to somewhere like Icelands they do weightwatchers puddings in there already portioned and caloriecounted and they do nice ones too...or low calorie icecream....either that or get some juice and freeze it into icecubes and suck on them....worth a try...its just a matter of looking in your local supermarket and looking at the low cal low fat stuff there is loads when you find them....hope this helps http://www.weightlossresources.co.uk/food/low_fat/hot_puddings.htm
