I walk at work so I can only walk 20 minutes at a time. I measured and I am walking 1 miles each time and I do this 4 times during my work day. Am I getting the same benefits as if I did it all at the same time? Also - what shoes are best for walking on a concrete gym floor?

I mean, its great that you have the dedication to go out 4 times a day. 20 minutes at a time is great if you want to stay aerobically fit, but it might not be the best for weight loss. Then again, it might work too - you just have to experiment with yourself, and if it happens to work, great! Just remember you'll have to up the intensity sometime, because at one point or another you will hit a plateau. Good luck!

i think it might be better to do it at differnt times so you can have your heartrate up at various times during the day. As for the shoes you could probably get running shoes because they are good for impact i have a pair of new balances 991 and i go running alot and they're perfect for it
