Some time I heard a tennis player say that he always ate fruit a few hours before a match. Is it usefull to eat an apple a few hours before you run a few miles or doesn't it make any difference when you eat one every day?

The glucose in fruit will cause an insulin spike. This means, you eat the fruit, your insulin spikes up, making you feel more awake. After about 30 minutes, you will crash, and feel more tired than you were to begin with. After about an hour, you should return to normal. So, in short, fruit immediately before exercise will show some short term benefit.Fruit 30 minutes before exercise will lower your energy during the exercise.Fruit an hour before exercise shows no benefit but also no loss.

you should eat one everyday because it is good for you (and it keeps the doctor away. lol) but before a sporting event, you should eat fruit, it gives you the energy you need. some people think the eating candy gives you the energy but it gives you a blast of energy and then completely slows you down. fruit gives you good energy and is good for you. hope I helped!

if you are doing cardio exercises (running, tennis, etc.), eat pasta 2 hours before doing it for more stamina and endurance.
