Mix it up.Sprint than jog. Its much better.

well if u wanna maintain the same speed option one(during jogging or ur morning walk) .if u r in a race then option 2.it is generally considered to run at the same pace is it does not strain ur body irregurarly

Sprinting increases leg strength and forces your heart rate to increase substantially. I've always incorporated sprinting into my workouts.

both burn the same amount of calories. the same pace would be easier.

really it depends on what you are striving for I am a long distance runner and I utilize both methods it makes you a better and stronger runner

im also a long distance runner, sprinter and hurdler and with pacing yourself you are making the muscle work more making it stronger because you are going at a slower pace and keeping yourself going for a long period of time. while with sprinting you are using everything at once for short distance. when using both you shouldnt do a dead stop after sprinting that can hurt you trust me its not fun.p.s to the people above sprinting and pacing is not the same. takes different parts of your body to do both not just using your legs and neither is easier then the other only because it works out different parts of your body
