I have been taking Phentermine to lose weight and love it!!! I used it 2 yrs ago to lose some pregnancy weight and it worked like a charm!! It is the most amazing diet pill on the planet. But recently some people have been saying it is speed. It appears it is!! I am totally healthy and have had no issues w/the drug and can get off them w/no problem. So what i am wondering is if anyone personally has had issues w/phen or if you know someone who has??? (of course when taken legally by a doctor and not for long periods of time) Thanks =)

I don't know, but read the ingredients then use wikipedia, some diet pills have amphetamines in them. That's what I did when I was concerned about my friend taking them. No diet pills are 100% safe though.

I took Phentermine several years ago and lost 30 pounds in about 4 months. I was also exercising twice a week. In the beginning it gave me a rush but nothing I couldn't handle. In fact, I quite liked it.About 3 1/2 years ago I started taking it again, and again I lost weight but I didn't take it as long this time so I was down about 12-15 pounds in around 2 months. Then I ordered some off the web and it didn't do anything but give me a rash, which it didn't do the other two times (those times I was seeing a doctor) so I'm leery about getting off the web again.I think it's pretty safe, a doctor will prescribe it for you but I guess that really doesn't mean anything. I have read on several sites and reviews that it is short term. You should only take it for about 3 months at a time, after that I think your body gets use to it and its less effective, and it can be addictive but I've never had that problem.

Yes it is speed. Speed is very hard on you heart and is very addictive. It works, but with continued use, you usually build up a tolerance to it and you need more and more. I got addicted to it a long time ago. I was on it for 10 years and could not even get out of bed if I didn't have it. I got extremely depressed during my withdrawal. The really sad part, though, is that ultimately it causes you to GAIN weight. When you don't take it, your metabolism slows down terribly causing weight to come back on. Not only do you gain your weight back, you gain extra back because of the slowed metabolism. I'd stop taking it before it grabs ahold of you. Eventually, it will.
