According to my new Polar heart rate monitor (womans version f4), I burned just over 800 calories jogging for an hour and a half. Wow..did I really burn that much? How accurate are these things?I was going uphill on 12 incline on the treadmill. I'm 18 years old, and 113 pounds; it says that for my resting heart rate, I burn about 1 calorie a minute.I went for 5 miles

that is extreamly inacurate. People can barley burn off 100 in 40min of high intensity cardio workout and kickboxing.

It depends on running speed, that could be beiviable if you were running something atleast 7 mph, and if you ran 2-3 miles or more. So seriously it would make sense depending speed and distance.

That sounds about right, because I had a science assignment last year where it listed the amount of calories you lose in a certain type of exercise, and you're supposed to burn about 700 calories in an hour.So I'd say that's accurate.

Your calorie burn really depends on your level of fitness. For instance, if you're a 5"6 woman and you weigh 140lbs you will burn fewer calories than a 5"6 woman who weighs 180lbs simply by virtue of carrying less mass. It will also depend on how fast you were running and what your heart rate was. It's pretty variable:-) I would go to calorieking.com and check out their exercise calorie burn converter:-)

This is not accurate, the most you can burn is 350 calories during jogging for one hour and half, and you have a good day.
