you can buy heart rate monitors from walgreens, cvs pharmacy, and maybe even sporting goods stores. they can run up to $100, but you might even try ebay to see if you cant find a cheap used one. heart rate monitors are great because you can measure exactly where your "fat burning zone" is. this way, you can keep yourself at this zone and find the right exercises that will take you to this zone.
