Please help? question about metabolism and losing weight?I am very confused. I am trying to lose weight so recently i have been eating 900 calories. I dont lose or gain when i eat 1200 so i was thinking this is how much i should eat to maintain therefore i thought i would be a good idea to eat 900 so i could have a slow weight loss of only 300 a day. But i have been doing this for 3 days and i havent lost any fat yet. why is this happening?

You shouldn't have dropped your calorie intake so low.. your body will go into starvation mode (your metabolism will slow down). Try increasing your exercise and maintaining the 1200 calorie intake. Also, you may want to reflect on what your eating to account for your 1200 calories. If you eat 1200 calories worth of lean protein and fruits and vegetables you'll lose more as apposed to 1200 calories worth of nutrient deficient foods. Good luck!

In your question, you didn't mention anything about exercise. I only bring that up because it is very difficult to lose weight by only doing half of what you're supposed to do. I personally could starve myself, but because I naturally have a slow metabolism, I won't lose any weight at all.If you work out, then you should continue your 1200 calories a day. I don't suggest eating less than that, because it's just plain not healthy..you're not getting enough nutrition. Also, 3 days isn't long enough...stop obsessing with the scale. Don't weigh yourself more than once a week.

one pound =3500 calories, don't drop your calorie intake so much because doing that can send your body into starvation mode which will release fat, Also drink lots of water and eat some fruit, Eating several smaller meals a day will increase your metabolism. And you won't really lose much weight if you aren't exercising. So throw some cardio into your routine
