I started weight watchers and I am losing weight but I notice that the diet foods have higher sodium and I have noticed that I swell alot worse and feel like this is the reason when I go to my meetings I have a gain instead of a loss any help?

Salt causes bloating. Try reducing the intake of it.Yeah, salt causes weight gain.

Sodium is a water retainer, what you need to do is lower the sodium and increase your water intake....once you naturally hydrate your body, it will retain the water it needs instead of the sodium retaining what it wants......the Sodium retains more water in the cells incase of dehydration, but if you regularly drink water, and i dont mean a few bottles with a glass or two a day, I'm talking about, put tea and coke aside and switch to 2% milk and water, not skim cuz that is just some nasty stuff, ya gotta keep up the calcium intake.....I drink probably about 2 gallons of water a day....

Salt causes the body to retain water, this is where the bloating comes from. Start reading your labels and ask at the next meeting about changing foods. Increasing salt is not good for your blood pressure either.

If you eat alot of sodium then yes you will gain weight. Seriously why are you on "Weight watchers"? Its probably not that good since you feel bloated all the time. Just eat healthy everyday and drink lots of water. water helps you lose weight. I know you might not think that but it really does. And cut off on extras like chips, candy, chocolate, sodas, and not to many sweets. Instead of soda drink water.
