A Pilates studio just opened up in my town. I have never tried Pilates before and am wondering if it's worth taking a couple of classes. I am fairly flexible, average weight/fitness level. I would love to work on strengthening my core (abs and back) and also stretching as a stress relief. I am not sure if Yoga would be more suitable for me? I don't really understand the difference between the two...Thanks

I love pilates. It's very relaxing and it makes you feel good. You definately become more flexible.

They are both nice (yoga and pilates). I personally practice yoga because I like that it involves the whole body and the mind. I think of pilates as more of a core workout and the "scoup" makes me a little uneasy because it goes against the natural curve of lower spine.
