having recently been tested for lung cancer and having been found clear ive taken a rather miserable look at my life and decided i should probably get fitafter yonks and yonks of smoking im really looking to strengthen my heart and lungs and hopefully tone some of my muscles in order to look less like a 6 foot pilsbury doughboyright now my routine is 30 minutes cycling / rowing keeping my heart at around 150 - 160 bpm followed by 20 mins of weights and another 10 mins warm down on bikesgiven i am 20 years old is this doing anything for my heart or do i need to go at it moreany advice on how to improve cardio would be greatdoc. w

Dont eat red meat. Red meat causes all kinds of heart diseases.As for cardio, jogging and jump rump.

Your routine sounds just fine. Yes, it is doing good for your heart.When your routine gets too easy, kick it up a notch. Good luck.

To have a healthy heart you need to eat right and exercise. Try to avoid red meats. Red meats are high in cholesterol. Eat lean meats, such as chicken breast, and turkey, but do not over do on those because chicken and turkey also has cholesterol. Incoprorate a lot of vegetables into your diet. Remember to avoid foods that are high in cholesterol. (Look at the label before consuming).
