My family stored some gear in the basement and it all became covered in green mold. Musty smelling stuff.I've read the answers posted here in yahoo answers and none of them help. None. Machine washing ruins em via water... yet washing em by hand makes it better? Cmon. I need to know how to thoroughly clean my boxing gloves, focus mitts, and bag gloves. Mold can be dangerous. I dun have any fancy sprays and if I did, I wouldn't be able to clean the insides. Anyone know how to clean them? I'm about to machine wash cold on short cycle... but what about drying? I can pat dry the outside but the cloth padding inside will remain wet and cause more mold.HELP PLEASE? I dun have the mone to replace it all.Why does my question get put in another category?? I was in boxing and asked a question and it placed it in home and garden. What the heck.Anyways, I dun really wanna machine my gloves cos of the leather. I jus wiped the boxing gloves dwn w baby wipes and all the stuff came off. The wipes where all green when done. But how do I clean the inside? I need a thorough washing. Also, I can't wipe inside the focus mits or bag gloves. Anyone know how?I would try that bleach method, but I dun wanna bleach my gloves. Bleach messes up fabric anyways. I once bleache a shirt that had ink on it and the stuff burned a hole. I just wanna get the sweat, mold, and blood off my gloves and focus mitts. Will machine n dry really mess up the leather? Even on low heat or tumble dry?I would try that bleach method, but I dun wanna bleach my gloves. Bleach messes up fabric anyways. You could try this: Mix white vinegar and water half and half in a spray bottle. That should help get rid of the mold. To dry the inside, you could try stuffing them with dry wash rags.
