Drinking water is always good for you. Having a soda every now and the won't kill your diet, but I'm talking like maybe 1 or 2 a weeks. I would suggest going on the Abs Diet, it's a great system that has you eating 6 meals a day and it includes an easy to do exercise program. This "diet" is not about deprivation but about knowing when enough is enough and how to make healthy choices. I have been on it on have not only lost weight buy gained muscle. I never feel hungry and the food is delicious! The key to keeping the weight off is a life style change, something you can do for life and stick to it. Good luck on your weight lost journey! Hope this helped.

Picture yourself drinking about a half cup of suger dissolved in water. Add some acidic properties and some artificial coloring and you've pretty much defined what's in soda. It's not bad to have soda every once in a while, but you have to remember that everything you consume effects you in the long run. I'd personally rather have a regular soda than diet ones....the sweetner in that is basiclly sugar mixed with acid and what you're eating is the residue coming from that. If you're going to eat sugar, eat it!!! Don't find a substitute. Water is always going to be good for you. You don't have to drink other liquids. You're focusing too much on drinking water, and not thinking about your calorie intake. You can have tea and it is probably only 70 calories or so if you don't load it up with sugar. You just have to find out how many calories you are eating, and how many you need to eat to lose weight. A pound of fat is 3,500 calories. So once you find out your needed caloric intake to maintain your weight, subtract 500 calories from that number to equal 1 pound of weight lost per week. It is only healthy to lose 1-2 pounds a week so at the most subtract 1000 calories. It is best to mix lower food intake and exercise to lose extra calories.Good luck!!!

Yes, if you stop drinking diet soda and only drink water that would help on your diet. It's not bad for you to drink only water, water and non-sweetened iced tea is all I drink too. They say not to drink your diet (i.e. empty calories in sodas and fruit juices). However, I'm not sure that just cutting out soda will give you the weight loss you are probably looking for but, it definitely is a good start. If you are wanting to keep eating the same foods you are eating then try to just cut back your portions a little. Don't have the second helping or take what you usually would take and cosciously eat a little less. A soda every now and then will not kill your diet but, don't make it a giant thirst buster!Good luck on starting the gym, that will definitely help you out tremendously. If you do decide to change your diet there is a site I use called www.sparkpeople.com and it is a free dieting/exercising site. It walks you through how to change your diet realistically and will even make you meal plans for each day. It's amazing! (No, I don't work for them or anything, ha ha) Good luck on your weight loss, don't give up! Smile

Eat smaller portions and less fattening foods. Drink water but when you start craving a soda make it diet soda. I have found when I pick one day a week to treat myself to a piece of cake or a more fattening meal it makes dieting a whole lot easier for me. If I were to tell myself I can never have sweets I would be miserable. Keep in mind that men lose weight a lot easier than women. Also cutting out the sodas will make a huge difference especialy if you are drinking a lot of soda now

BUddy The best advice from me,which would also bring a vast change in your weight for good is:quit consuming meats and become a VEGAN.that"ll do the trick!!you should weigh 190 pounds to look great and good.so thats 100 pounds of extra baggage you are carrying.but the good news is its really very easy to shed those weights if you:become a vegandrink a lot of water to resist the urge to eat a lot, particularly those junk foods!do a lot of cardio!swimming 2 days/week would be idealthen, last but not least, buy a bicycle and go anywhere nearer either in your bicycle or by walk(brisk pace!!)avoid carbonated drink, instead buy a juicer and drink loads of fresh juices!!While you are in your home do short burts of skippings regularly(say ,400 counts each time)above all BELIEVE IN YORSELF AND FINALLY,AS NIKE SAYS "JUST DO IT!"all the best!!

Okay soda is not good for you for multiple reasons. There is nothing healthy in it at all and even drinks like gatorade are bad for you because of the sugar in it. You don't have to drink nothing but water, but it is good for you and helps you flush your system. I would suggest maybe drinking water and juice and teas at first because its hard to go to water right away if you are used to all that sugar and taste. Eating well and drinking lots of fluids with definitely help you a lot with your weight and health, however it is important to mix exercise in there as well, even if its only like 30 minutes a day. A soda every now and then won't kil your diet but it doesn't really help. Its kinda like someone trying to quit drugs or smoking but just goes back to in every now and thenn....its still better to just quit all together so you won't be tempted to start back up again. I enjoy watching the biggest loser... they have a lot of really good tips on the show and online about diet and exercise and don't be discouraged if the pounds don't drop off of you immediately. Its a lot easier to gain weight than lose it! I would also suggest if you tend to eat a lot of beef and pork...to cut back on that as well. Those both carry lots of fats and not a lot of the good protein you need that are found in poultry and fish. I quit eating beef and pork and not only did i lose weight, but i feel so much better as well!good luck

I have never been overweight I have always been on the skinny side but I have been slightly above and below target. As I have a high metabolism its easy for me to give the below advice, but it really worked for me.Eat regularly. One thing I notice between me and normal weight/fat people is that I get hungry much more frequently but I don't have to have huge meals each time. Just maybe half a sandwich, or a small snack. Snack only on healthy stuff though like cheese sticks, or dried blueberries or whatever you lihe the taste of thats healthiest. snacking regularly will stave off hunger and you won't need or want to eat huge meals.Stop drinking soda! It is sugar that makes you gain weight. Drink lots of water, or if you hate the taste of plain water there are suger free alternatives but please stay away from diet sodas. They are so bad for your health as they leak calcium from your bones. Drinking water also makes you feel full and therefore you won't be as hungry.I read somewhere that sometimes your brain doesn't really tell the difference between when you're hungry or thirsty, therefore sometimes you are just thirsty so take a drink first.Eat slowly. I can really eat alot of I don't stop but I find that if i take a break and stop, my brain registers that I've eaten alot and I can't eat anymore. It takes about 10-20 minutes for most people but you can look this up and experiment.Cook healthy foods for yourself. I have stopped cooking pasta with oil and salt and i just boil it in plain water. Try not to use that much oil - it may not be what's making you fat, but it will give you a heart attack! Finally, drink green tea. Green tea increases your metabolism from 0-1 cal per hour to about 9 (you may want to look this up to be sure) but I am certain that it increases your metabolism in the long run which is why there are so many 'diet' teas. In fact those teas naturally increase your metabolism.Good luck! hope this helps!

first off, stay away from soda and if you must have one, have a diet - caffeine free soda. drinking only water is fine as long as you are eating healthy. You should be eating reasonable portions of healthy foods (proteins like chicken, fish and some red meats but not every day) Fruits and veggies are a must, and if you dislike them, then at least have a glass of orange juice or cranberry juice and eat some salsa which does count as a veggie. stay away from fats (like mayo, cheese and fried foods) and only have a minimal amount of starches (like pasta, rice, breads and pretzels). another key to weight loss is excercise... walking is better than jogging until you lose weight because you can damage your knees. biking and swimming are excellant too. lastly, do not try to rush and loose weight fast, it is not healthy and typically leads to gaining it back later. stay away from the soda!!!!!

Hit the gym and start an extensive cardio workout routine for now (3-4 x week). Treadmill, cross country, etc...Soda is full of empty carbs and calories (140 calories). Have to start eating a smart nutritional plan.
