1. Whats the best way to lose fat around my waist/hips & stomach? Is it through running on the treadmill (for long periods), or using other machines like bike & rower?2. Whats the best weight training method to build defined muscle, particularly biceps & shoulders? I was told: low reps + large weight = growth/building, high reps + low weight = tone/definition.. is this correct?3. Pecs - I need to work on these too, what's the best way? to work first on toning them & then maybe to increase the size (which isnt as important at the moment)?

1.) Alll of the exercises you have mention are cardio - so which ever you prefer (remember - there's no such thing as spot reduction).2.) I believe that's correct (or at least, I was told the same thing).3.) I'm not to sure about that - ask at the gym if no one on here answers.

The best way to lose weight in any area is through healthy diet and exercise. You can not target an area to lose weight unless your doing liposuctionCheck out XerciseFactor dot com to find great exercise for your workouts. Check out their XGEN feature to randomly generate routines. You have to sign up, but it is free.

cardio like running is the best way to burn fat. you can do any of the above or try aerobics or something like that.for definition, high reps of low weights. or why don't you check out your local gym to see if they do a body pump class? www.lesmills.com this uses weights for tone & definition - class last 1 hour and works all of your different muscle groups - it's really good & you see the results fast

The secret to losing weight is also to have a good healthy diet at the same time. To the questions you have i would ask a trainer at the gym they Will advise you, because if you start on big weights straight away you can cause more damage than good so the trainer Will show you which ones and what weights. It is better to be safe than sorry. GOOD LUCK Smile
