|
|
| is there a difference in burning calories. also, in the threadmill where it says "distance" 10.25 what does that mean? i was walking in threadmill for 45 minutes and that is what it says. and bycicle i do a lot more on distance.ok that is what i thought i will go ahead and reset it. because 10.25 miles is far unless im on a bike even so, thats far.. thanks guys. |

| usually treadmills go by miles. so it would be 10.25 miles, even tho that doesnt make sense. so im not sure.and no theres no difference in calorie burning. maybe slight bc of the tempurture your exercising in, but other than that.. |

| I don't know of any calorie burning differences between treadmill and outside, but I do know that when you aren't focused on the little screen that tells you how far you've gone, you can run for longer, so take it outside. The 10.25 probably means that you've gone 10 and a quarter miles or maybe kilometers. (if you were walking, maybe the distance meters are broken) |

| i don't think there is a difference but for some reason i've always heard people say running on the treadmill is better.by the way are you sure it said 10.25? as in miles?because that doesn't make sense. 1.025 doesn't make sense eithercause you said you were on it for 45 minutes so you should double check?i spent 60 mins on the treadmill and do brisk walking and it's do close to 3 miles. |

| You will always go further on a bike then running for it takes less energy and you have great invention of the wheel working in your favor. The one difference might be that you might be more motivated running outside then inside, which might allow you to push yourself harder. |

| There are advantages and disadvantages to both... You have a lot more control over incline and a better ability to monitor speed on the treadmill. In terms of Calories burned they are pretty much equal when comparing running on the side walk vs treadmill. However, if you have access to trails and hills then you are going to get a more effective workout outdoors! You will end up utilizing more muscles (mainly for stabilization) when the surface is rough and uneven. Some people will also argue that running on 'natural' ground is less jarring on the joints and cartilage, which is a plus. You treadmill reading was off if it says 10.25 miles in 45 minutes time, especially if you were only walking. I would try and adjust or reset the display for a more accurate reading. |
