I am 42 when I was younger till the age of 19 i weighed between 90-100lbs through stress and childbirth and other related trauma. my weight was 317lbs. in the past 7months i have lost 54lbs. and eating a whole new way. no diets. I walk everyday about 1 mile. and cardio 30mins a day. Is there something I can eat or drink to help this. I drink 1 gallon of water a day. I eat no salt or fast food. Sometimes diet soda. I don't smoke or drink. I do have fatty liver disease and am under a doctors care. I get blood work done every three months the numbers are great. I am not diabetic or don't have high cholesterol. I still have a lot of stress, through exercise and diet and meditation. I seem to be dealing with it. I lost my 23yr old daughter and unborn grandchild to a auto accident. She has a 4yr son and I have 3other grandchildren and a 22 yr old daughter. I don't just want to stop the exercise and will not but is the a way I can help this problem. I have tried wearing different shoes. helpThat is exactly what I am doing. I have put a call into the doctor. but I use a trampoline which being so overweight is a great thing. and i do move my arms like i am boxing or running in place. thank you so much. This makes perfect sense. And when I walk I move my arms. With the stress of losing my daughter I have to keep moving or I can find myself just sitting and my nerves and muscle hurt more. thank you again

I experience this problem every once in a while when I exercise; one or both of my feet go numb. I've never had it happen in my hands. I assumed that it was because I was putting pressure on certain nerves in my legs/feet and this was causing the numbness. I've also stopped to loosen my shoes during my exercise sessions (due to my feet swelling from running for extended periods), and this has occasionally relieved the problem. Sometimes, however, it doesn't go away until I simply stop whatever exercise I'm doing, whether it's running or using an elliptical trainer. However, I can't be sure of why you're getting the same symptoms in your hands. I've found that when I walk a great deal, my hands get swollen from swinging my arms during the natural motion of walking - excess blood gathers in your hands from the centrifugal force of swinging your arms. It's not fully numb, but it is tingly and slightly uncomfortable. Is this what you're experiencing? If that's what you're feeling, it's probably not particularly dangerous or harmful to your health, merely uncomfortable. But to avoid it, you could try other forms of exercise that are less uncomfortable/strenuous, such as swimming or biking. If what I'm describing is not what you feel (or even if it is), I'd highly suggest that you talk to your doctor about it. You pay this person to take care of you. Not only are you doing yourself a disservice by not discussing it with him/her, but you could also be hiding the symptoms of something more serious that your doctor needs to know about. Think about it, and good luck.
