| I am thinking of starting a diet and exercise plan to lose a few pounds and I want to ask friends to participate, but I do not know if this would be a good idea. |

| both. you can ask your friend to participate this can be a key factor in your plan to lose weight because this is a great motivation. working out with friends help you get motivated |

| Sure it would! Almost everyone I know wants to do both. Even better, put some money down on your results. That will spur you both on. |

| It does help for both.... Make sure your exercise buddy has the same or more motivation than yourself as when you are having a low day and do not feel like working out, then your buddy will push you, if you get a buddy who has less motivation than you, you may end up watching a movie or sit around talking.If you live alone, a diet buddy is good as you can talk about favourite low-fat meals and invite one another to your houses to share dinners (So you will eat less!), however if you have family and/or roommates it is best to get everyone involved. |
