|
| I am around 20 years old, 160 pounds and i dont get much protein at allso...if i start having 100 g of whey protein a day will that be sufficient enough to start gaining muscle (with a weight lifting plan) ..and is having the whey protein essentially the same as getting it from real foods? |

| -You need to intake 1 gram of protein for every pound of body weight just to maintain muscle size. -Do not intake more than 40-45g per serving. -Always intake a large serving within 30min of exercise.-Try and intake different types of protein like whey, casein, animal, fish |

| Based on ur body weight u would need at least 160gms to 200gms of protein a day, and need to eat 5 to 6 small meals a day, so you'd need 26 to 33gms of protein per sitting. Let's say you''ll eat 3 strong meals (real food) and 3 light meals( protein shakes or protein snacks). So as u r getting bigger and bigger u should increment your protein intake. Remember to watch ur calorie intake. watch the carbs and fat intake too. The more muscle u build, the faster u burn fat.So alternate one strong meal and one light meal every 2 to 3 hrs. and don't eat before u go to bed, otherwise you'll gain fat. unless u r freaking starving take a protein shake, that should do it.Remember to drink a protein shake right after ur workout, so gotta have to time yourself so ur small meal falls or fits with ur workout schedule |
