I was checking it out on the website and next to all of the sucess stories it says "Results not typical. Individuals are remunerated. Weight loss on a prior NutriSystem program."What is that supposed to mean? What is remunerated?

Paid. The people who tell you how much weight they lost are paid by nutrisystem to share their stories with the world. Nutrisystem changed their foods recently so the third part tells you about the prior program they were on. Results not typical is their standard disclaimer.

As with any diet or weight loss program you will have some people who will stick to the program to the letter and others will cheat a bit, and that is why any diet site will have the "results not typical". You are also going to have some that lose weight faster than others - so you'll never get 2 people on the same diet losing the same amount of weight in the same time frame. Usually on the page they will also list the "average" weight loss so you have a better idea of how much most lose. When you see the word "remunerated" it means that the person has been compensated. This usually occurs when they have their photo on a site. Also Nutrisystem has recently changed their menu items so most of the testimonials will be from their older program. You'll start to see testimonials for their new 2008 program in a few months after people have been on it for a while. The new program is really nice since the food has more fiber so it keeps you full longer.
