How is 'Brown Bread' better than normal 'White bread' ?? Can anyone please let me know ?

Brown bread was always readily available in the West but now its available in our country...India but it costs a bit more than the white bread. Has it got more food value than white bread or what !? I am into fitness/exercising for a long time, and so will it help me in any way ?

less sugar, salt and yeast used to make it plus it has all pulses and stuff in it

It helps. The difference between brown bread [or Whole Wheat bread] and White bread is that Brown bread isn't processed as much as white bread is, so therefore it retains more of its nutrients. White bread is okay to eat but if you're into fitness and health it really benefits you if you eat the Brown bread.

Brown bread may have more fiber than white bread which is why it is good for you. The bread should be 100% whole wheat to be healthy. "Brown" breads that don't contain whole wheat may be just as bad as "white" bread, so be careful.

white bread is made up of "maida" (if you r an indian u would be knowing that") which is difficult to digest and is the product usually used to make all the junk products like pizza etc!! whereas brown bread is made up of whole wheat and is easy to digest and has more nutritional value!!!

brown bread is a whole wheat bread.white bread is made up of refined wheat,i.e maida.obviously brown bread has more calories,more carbs.brown bread is a dietary fibre and it helps in increasing the fecal mass by absorbing more water thus helps in constipation.dietary fibres are also useful in hypercholesterolemia,diabetes,obesity.
