Hello. I am a sixteen year old girl, 5'3, and streamline obese at about 175 pounds. I have finally decided that enough, is enough, and that i must stop gaining more weight. I have finally got the strength within me to totally comit to a diet and excersice plan. Not only do i need to lose weight in order for me to gain a bit more self-confidence and to overall look much better, but i have now realized the dire need for me to lose weight for my health. Both of my parents have contracted diabetes, so chances are i will most likely get diabetes. But what is the point of inviteing that disese into my body? No. I know i cannot banish the inevitable, but i can at least prolong it. And the time, is NOW. The plan i have contrived goes like this: I am going to consume about 1200 colories every day. I plan to excersice 2 hours every day, and on the weekends i am going to excersie 4 hours a day. How long will it take me to lose about 50 pounds? Thank you so much, i really appreciate your kindness!

Wow, good luck to you! it will take a long time, but at the beggining, you will be more commited, and loose weigt faster , probably. I know someone who lost 45 pounds in 2 months, but she didn't exercise for that long a day. Please dont overdo it! I'm sorry about the diabetes xxx

The healthy amount of weight to lose per week is about 2 - 2.5 pounds. In the beginning, your body may lose more due to getting rid of water weight. It could take about 6 months to lose it, but don't get discouraged! As you start to lose weight, you can start building muscle with weight training. Don't always go by the numbers on the scale. Take measurements and keep track of them and how your clothes fit.Good luck! =)
